J&K Weather Update: Rain and Thunderstorm Activity Forecast from June 21 Onwards

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued an updated weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, covering the period from June 19 to June 27, 2025. Residents and farmers are advised to stay alert as several days of rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected.

Forecast Overview

  • June 19–20:
    Weather will remain generally dry across most parts of the region. However, there is a possibility of brief spells of rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds at isolated locations.
  • June 21–22:
    Expect generally cloudy skies with intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers at many places. Intense showers are also likely at a few locations, especially in the Jammu Division.
  • June 23–24:
    Brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered places.
  • June 25–27:
    Weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places across the Union Territory.

Advisory for Public and Farmers

  • Farmers:
    It is advised to continue all farm operations until June 20, as weather will mostly remain dry during this period.
  • Rain Alert:
    Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected on June 21, 22, and 25, particularly in the Jammu Division. This could lead to localized waterlogging and other rain-related disruptions.
  • Flash Floods & Landslides Warning:
    Due to the forecast of intense rainfall, there is a possibility of flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, especially in vulnerable hilly and mountainous areas.
