The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has announced the opening of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships Schemes for Scheduled Caste (SC) students. This initiative aims to provide financial support to students from economically weaker sections to ensure they can continue their education without financial barriers.

Eligibility and Benefits

Pre-Matric Scholarship
Component I:
Eligibility: Students belonging to the SC category with parents’/guardians’ annual income not exceeding ₹2.50 lakhs. Applicable for students studying in classes 9 and 10 in recognized schools.
Entitlement: Academic allowance ranging from ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang (specially-abled) students.

Component II:
Eligibility: Students whose parents/guardians are engaged in unclean occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards. No income limit criteria. Applicable for students studying in classes 1 to 10 in recognized schools.
Entitlement: Academic allowance ranging from ₹3,500 to ₹8,000 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

Post-Matric Scholarship
Eligibility: Students from the SC category with parents’/guardians’ annual income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakhs. Applicable for students pursuing courses in recognized schools/colleges from class 11 onwards.
Entitlement: Compulsory non-refundable fees (including tuition fee) and an academic allowance ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹13,500 per annum, with an additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

Application Process
Eligible students from NSP-onboarded states/UTs such as Assam, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Punjab (for Pre-Matric only), Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand can apply through the NSP. Students from other states/UTs should apply via their respective State Scholarship Portals.

Requirements
Applicants should have a valid mobile number, Aadhaar (UID) number, Aadhaar-seeded bank account, income certificate, and caste certificate.
