University of Kashmir Announces Senior Research Fellow Position
The Department of Zoology at the University of Kashmir is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position on a research project studying the taxonomy and distribution of weevils in the North-western Himalaya. The project is funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) of the Government of India.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Zoology or an allied subject with at least 55% marks
- Specialization in forest entomology
- Minimum of two years of research experience with JRF/NET/GATE qualification
- Experience in insect collections and molecular taxonomy is desirable
Emoluments
The emoluments for the position will be paid according to the guidelines of the funding agency (SERB-DST).

The interview will be held on May 16, 2024, at 12 noon in the Office Chamber of the Head, Department of Zoology. Selected candidates will be required to bring their original certificates to the interview. No travel allowance will be provided for appearing in the interview.
