ICAR-CITH Is Looking for Senior Research Fellows
The ICAR- Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH) is a leading research institute in the field of temperate horticulture. They are currently looking for two Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) to join their team.
Details of the Positions
- Number of Positions: 2
- Job Title: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- Project:
- Position 1: Genome editing using a CRISPR/Cas9 System for inducing early flowering and drought tolerance in apple (Malus x domestica Borkh)
- Position 2: Development of DUS testing guidelines of Pran (Allium proliferum)
- Location: ICAR-CITH, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India
- Contract: The positions are temporary and contractual. The initial appointment will be for one year, but it may be extended for another year based on performance.
- Salary: Rs. 31,000 per month + 18% HRA

- Position 1: Master’s degree in Plant Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Agriculture/Horticulture with 4/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. OR Master’s degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years of Bachelors degree and 2 years of Masters degree. Candidates must have NET qualifications and two years of research experience.
- Position 2: M.Sc. in Horticulture (Vegetable Science/Floriculture), Genetics & Plant Breeding.

Desirable Qualifications
- Position 1: Research experience in cloning, transformation, bioinformatics, gene sequence analysis, and plant transformation.
- Position 2: Experience in DUS testing and phenotyping.

Additional Information

- Travel allowances will not be provided for attending the interview.
